The race is one of the biggest mountainbike marathons in Central East-Europe. In the last 11 years we had more than 15 thousands of participants, and more than 100 thousands of spectators, who enjoyed the race in the beautiful mountains of the Danube Curve. In 2011 we are waiting for 1800 participants from 8-10 countries, as in the last few years. Beside the professionals, many more amateur mountain-bikers (70 %) rides on the event, so the distances and categories are adaptable from 10 years to 60 years old riders, hanging on their skills. We believe that mountain-biking is more than sport; it is the healthy activity of the active, modern people who likes the nature. The center of the 3-day-long festival framing the mountainbike race and also the start-finish area of the ’Duna Marathon’ – similar to the earlier races – will be in the beautiful Danube Curve, right on the bank of the Danube. There will be a tent suitable for the reception of many people, cultural and musical programmes and hosting of high quality will ensure a pleasant weekend for the competitors and the spectators as well. |
